                              The Lupus Basic:
There are two general types of Lupus Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE or lupus) and Discord Lupus.
 
Lupus is a chronic (long lasting) autoimmune disease that has a history for being potentially debilitating and possible fatal. The condensed version of what happens is the immune system goes hay wire and mistakenly attacks healthy cells and tissue.

The result is inflammation and tissue damage. You might have Lupus if you have these symptoms

* Sore or swollen joints
* Constant fever over 100 degrees
* Extended periods of fatigue
* Skin rashes, that look like butterfly shaped rash on the cheeks and nose
* Chest Pain - deep breathing
* Anemia
* Sensitivity to sun or ultraviolet light
* Hair loss
* Blood clotting problems
* Fingers turning white and/or blue in the cold
* Seizures
* Mouth or nose ulcers lasting longer than two weeks 

Lupus can affect any part of the body, however its most common in the arms, heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys and nervous system. 

Lupus unpredictable, with periods of illness (called flares) and other periods of remission. Once can get Lupus at any age, though its most common in women, particularly African American
